Privacy
& cookies

What this site collects, why, how long it is kept, and what you can ask me to do about it. It is short because the site does very little.

In short

The whole thing, in five lines

  • This site sets no cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to.
  • There are no advertising or social trackers on any page. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no ad networks.
  • Visitor statistics are anonymous and counted on my own server, not sent to a third-party analytics company.
  • If you email, call or message me, I keep what you send me so I can answer you and, if we work together, run the job properly.
  • I never sell or share your details for marketing. Not to anyone, not ever.
Who I am

The people responsible

This site is run by Yeti Trading and Holding Company Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under number 16962101, which trades as Guy Mitchell and as Posttime. Under UK data protection law the company is the data controller for the information described here — it decides what is collected and why.

The quickest way to reach a human about anything on this page is [email protected], or 07968 006146. Put “privacy” in the subject line and it will not get lost among the enquiries.

What is collected

Three things, and nothing else

There is no contact form, no login, no newsletter and no shop on this site, so there is no point at which you are asked to hand anything over. What exists is this:

WhatWhyLawful basisKept for
What you send me when you get in touch — your name, email address, phone number and whatever you tell me about the work To answer you, quote for the job, and run it if you go ahead Steps taken at your request before entering a contract, and performance of that contract — UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b) Six years after our last dealing, which is how long I may need it for tax and for defending a claim
Anonymous page statistics — the page viewed, the country, the type of device, and the site you arrived from To see which pages are worth keeping and which are ignored My legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, balanced against your privacy — Article 6(1)(f). No individual is identified Rolling, and never tied to a person
Web server logs, which include your IP address and the page requested To keep the server up and to spot abuse and attacks My legitimate interest in the security of the service — Article 6(1)(f) A few days, then overwritten automatically

I do not ask for, and have no use for, any of the special category data the law treats as sensitive — health, ethnicity, beliefs, and so on. Please do not send it to me.

Cookies

There aren’t any

This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. That is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight, and it is the reason you were not made to click anything before reading this.

The visitor statistics come from Umami, which I run on my own server rather than sign up to as a service. It counts page views without cookies, without a device fingerprint and without storing your IP address, so the numbers I see are totals rather than people. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations do not require me to ask your permission first — and because no personal data comes out of it, there is nothing here for you to opt out of. If you would rather not be counted at all, any browser “do not track” setting or content blocker will stop it.

Who else sees it

The short list

I do not sell data, share it for anyone else’s marketing, or use it to build a profile of you. A small number of suppliers necessarily handle some of it in order for the site and my email to work at all:

  • My hosting provider, whose data centre in Germany runs the server this site and the statistics sit on. They hold the data on my instructions and for no purpose of their own.
  • Google, because the typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. That means your browser asks Google’s servers for the font files, and in doing so tells Google your IP address and which page you are on. Google may process that outside the UK, under the UK’s approved transfer arrangements for the United States. Nothing else about you is sent, and if I move the fonts onto my own server this line will go.
  • Google Workspace, which carries my email, so anything you send to [email protected] rests on their servers as well as mine.
  • WhatsApp, if you choose to message me there. That conversation is governed by Meta’s privacy terms as well as this notice. Email or the phone if you would rather it were not.

I will also hand information over where the law leaves me no choice — a court order, or a properly made request from a regulator or the police.

Your rights

What you can ask me to do

UK data protection law gives you a set of rights over information about you. You can ask me to:

  • Show you what I hold about you, and give you a copy.
  • Correct it if any of it is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete it, where I have no continuing reason to keep it. I will say so plainly if tax or limitation rules mean I have to hold on to something.
  • Stop or limit what I do with it, including objecting outright to anything I do on the basis of legitimate interests.
  • Hand it to someone else in a portable form.

Email [email protected] and I will reply within one month. There is no charge. I may ask you to confirm who you are first, which is a protection for you rather than an obstacle.

If I get it wrong, please tell me and give me the chance to put it right. You are also entitled to complain directly to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, and you do not have to come to me first.

Other sites

Links out

The work shown on this site links to sites I have built for clients, and those are run by the businesses that own them. Once you follow a link you are on somebody else’s site under somebody else’s privacy notice, and this one no longer applies.

Changes

If this notice changes

Any change appears here with a new date at the top of the page. If a change is significant — a new supplier, or a new use of your information — I will tell anyone I am already dealing with directly rather than quietly editing the page and hoping it is read.
