What does the website check look at?
It crawls up to 50 pages of your site the way a search engine does and checks titles, descriptions, headings, broken links, redirects, duplicate pages, image alt text, structured data, the sitemap, robots.txt, HTTPS, the SSL certificate, server speed and security headers. It also tests whether Google, Bing and the main AI crawlers are let in, then scans your DNS and email set-up: nameservers, MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS, CAA, DNSSEC and when the domain expires.
Is this the same as a Semrush or Ahrefs site audit?
It covers the same technical ground as their site audit: everything that can be learned by crawling your own site. What it does not show is where you rank for keywords or which other sites link to you. Those come from crawling the whole web, which is what the paid tools charge for.
Why does the DNS part matter for SEO?
It mostly matters for email and trust. A missing SPF, DKIM or DMARC record is the commonest reason a small business's emails land in spam, and anyone can send mail pretending to be you. Broken nameservers or an expiring domain take the website down with no warning.
Do you keep the results?
Results are held in memory for a few hours so the link can be shared, then discarded. Nothing is stored about you, and the site you scan is not added to any list.
Can you fix what it finds?
